TextEvaluator℠ is a fully-automated technology for obtaining
valid and reliable feedback about the complexity characteristics of reading passages
selected for use in instruction and assessment.* Teachers and other educators can
use TextEvaluator℠ to:
- Determine an appropriate grade-level classification
for a text, and
- Determine which of eight possible sources of
comprehension difficulty are likely to be most challenging within any professionally-edited
text.
TextEvaluator℠ is designed to evaluate any professionally edited text that is formatted as continuous prose, including informational text, literary text, and text that incorporates a mixture of informational and literary elements. TextEvaluator is not designed to evaluate student essays or other texts with syntax, spelling and word choice errors, as these require additional modules.
Additional information about TextEvaluator℠ is available here.
Instructions on how to access TextEvaluator℠ are available
